Parody Project #2

The next step in creating a parody is to come up with a simple story line.  What is your parody going to be about?  That is the main idea?  What is the theme?  Groups should write a short synopsis of their story, and producers should write it as a comment on this post.  Producers, be sure to sign your name so I know what group is commenting!

Parody Project #1

Our CST weeks' project is to write a parody of  "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepson or "Hall of Fame" by The Script.  Which song are you going to parody?  Leave me a comment answering this question and list all the members of your group in the comment too.  Tell me, in your comment, who your Producer (aka Leader) is and who your Director (keeps the script) is.

Your Second Blog

For the rest of the semester, you are going to be working on a second blog.  This blog will be about a subject you are interested in.  Your first assignment is to choose a topic for your blog, give your new blog a name that has to do with the topic, and invent four information pages to add to this blog.

My new blog will be about...wait for it...the Dodgers!  Here is how I would do it:

  • Blog Topic - Dodgers Baseball
  • Blog Name - True Blue Dodger Fan
     Pages:
  1. Dodger Stadium
  2. The Players
  3. Championships
  4. Spring Training

Be sure to pick a topic you are really interested in because you will be writing about it for 8 posts.  Please get your blog set up and designed while you are on Spring Break.

Spring Break Video Edit

Your Spring Break homework is to edit  the Similes and Metaphors video you made in the 7th grade.  In class we uploaded your video to your Google Drive...  I'm sorry, I couldn't get the screencast video to work, but here is how you edit your video:

  1. Download your video from Drive to your desktop.
  2. Open YouTube and create an account.
  3. Choose the Upload button next to the search window.
  4. Upload your video.
  5. Choose Video Manager.
  6.  Choose to edit your video.
  7. From this screen you can change the name of your video and write a description.
  8. Choose Enhancements at the top of the page.
  9. From this screen you can trim any dead or boring time from the beginning and/or end of the video, just use the scissors that say "Trim."
  10. On this screen use Autofix and Stabilize to improve the quality of your video.
  11. Save and take a break.
  12. After it has "processed,"  Try the Video Editor.
  13. This is where you can add a "CC" to put your title on, add a Transition to go from your title page to your video, add your video, Transition again to a "CC" to put your credits on.  Suggested Credits would be Credits, Written by, Acted by, and you must have Edited by...
If you have any questions, email me at andrea.mordoh@gmail.com, and I will answer as soon as I can.  Have fun!

And So the Marking Period Ends...

...have you done the following?

-Posted a Welcome to My Blog on your blog?
-Created a Podcast tab on your blog?
-Posted an intro to your Podcast with a verbal logo on your Podcast tab?
-Added the 4 books under your Book Report tab?  Telling me the title, author's name and genre of the book?
-Completed all the forms I have asked for in earlier posts here?

Double check that this is done.  All of the above goes into your English grade for this marking period!
